Why Us?

Why is AquaHeart Different From a Regular Swim School?

All of our sessions are run by a fully qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist- as health professionals, our staff have experience working with children of all abilities (often regular swim teachers do not have this knowledge). Our programme is also unique and child-led; we use principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis, in addition to tools such as visual aids, to teach in a way that adapts to how your child learns. Lastly, typical swim schools rarely offer one-on-one lessons, with children in larger groups (which can be highly distracting for some children)—at AquaHeart, sessions are always one-on-one.

We Already Have an OT, Can We Still See You?

Yes! Many of our clients have a 'regular' OT to address typical issues such as fine motor skills, being school-ready in a clinic or school setting, etc. Our Aquatic OT's are focused on Learn to Swim. We ensure our services meet your child’s NDIS goals, often complementing or accelerating their current therapy goals.

Pool Sessions

Do Parents and Carers Need to Get in the Water Too?

We tailor all our sessions to you and what is best for your child. If your child needs you in the water, we welcome you to be in to start with if need be; alternatively, you can leave it up to our wonderful therapists.

What to bring?

We provide goggles and all the toys/resources for the lesson. You are welcome to bring your own goggles if your child prefers. All you will need is your child’s swimwear, towel and we suggest a change of clothes and a separate bag to place your wet items in. All facilities have changing rooms with showers that can be used after the session.

Other Questions

Do You See Adults Too?

Yes. We offer therapy to adults with all types of mobility. Adults are also able to claim us via their NDIS. Enquire today.
